Math Tutoring

Welcome to our tutoring site! Allow me to introduce myself. I'm an enthusiastic math tutor, with a unique background. Trained as a mechanical engineer (B. Sc. in ME), I previously worked for over 12 years as a robotics designer and engineering analyst for Canada's iconic space robotics company MDA (yes!...the company that built the famous Canadarm robotics, deployed on the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station).
Through my experience training and mentoring new hires in industry, as well as helping our own children in their studies, I realized that I find teaching particularly rewarding. And so, for the current chapter of my career, I’ve been focusing on helping students succeed in their math studies. I know firsthand that having strong math skills creates wonderful opportunities for the future. As a tutor, I foster a positive, engaging learning environment for each student. I am patient, kind, and supportive, and I will work to set your child up for success.
Core French Tutoring
Grades 4 to 8

Bonjour! I am a Core French tutor with over 20 years of classroom experience within the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). My passion for the French language and culture has driven my career as an educator. I have the ability to create customized lesson plans, tailored to the unique needs and learning styles of each of my students. My supportive and motivating approach creates a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable to practice their language skills and grow in confidence. With my extensive knowledge of the curriculum and the skills needed to excel in the language, I can help students achieve success in their studies.
How It Works
Initial Meeting
Let's start with an in-person meeting to become acquainted and discuss specific tutoring needs. If agreeable, this time can be used to outline a plan for future tutoring sessions. The initial meeting is free of charge and typically lasts 15-30 minutes.
Tutoring Location
We offer several options regarding location. Our tutoring office is an open, light-filled space on the main level of our home, near The Queensway and Royal York Road in Etobicoke. Another option would be the Brentwood branch of the Toronto Public Library. In some cases, a different venue may be appropriate and can be discussed as we proceed.
Tutoring Fees

$35 per hour when booking eight or more consecutive weekly sessions

$45 per hour for pay-as-you-go sessions

Regular communication with parents is important for tracking academic progress, identifying any concerns, and celebrating successes. We always love to hear about those fabulous marks on recent quizzes etc., so please keep us informed!
